What we set

• A session cookie when you sign in, so the dashboard knows who you are. It is removed when you sign out.
• A short-lived booking cookie while a customer is part-way through booking, so refreshing the page does not lose the slot they picked.

That is the entire list. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, and nothing that follows you to another website.

Why there is no banner

Regulation 5 of S.I. 336/2011 requires consent before storing information on somebody’s device. Regulation 5(5) exempts storage that is “strictly necessary in order to provide an information society service explicitly requested”. A login session and a half-finished booking are exactly that.

Cookie-based analytics is not covered by that exemption. The Data Protection Commission is clear that it needs prior opt-in consent, with a reject option as prominent as accept and nothing firing before the user chooses. We would rather not have the banner, so we do not use it.

How we count visits

We count page views on this website and inside the dashboard, using Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. To tell one visit from another it hashes your IP address and browser together with a secret that changes every day, so the count cannot be joined up across days and there is no profile of you anywhere.

We are telling you about it rather than burying it, because European regulators treat that kind of hashing as a form of fingerprinting even when no cookie is involved. Our answer is to keep it off the pages where it would count somebody else’s customers: it does not run on any barbershop’s booking page, homepage or gallery. If you book a haircut through FreshTrim, nothing on this list counts you.

If that ever changes, a banner appears before the first non-essential cookie is set, and this page changes with it.

The booking widget on your own website

If you embed our booking widget in your shop’s website, the widget itself sets nothing beyond the strictly necessary booking cookie above. That means it does not, on its own, oblige you to add a consent banner to your site. Anything else on your page is your own to assess.
